🐘 Ganesh Puja Procedure (Step-by-Step)

1. 🚿 సన్నాహాలు | Preparation

English: Take a bath and wear clean clothes. Clean the puja place. Place a Ganesh idol (clay or metal) on a clean platform with a red/yellow cloth. Arrange all puja items: flowers, fruits, coconut, durva grass, incense, camphor, etc.

తెలుగు: శుభ్రంగా స్నానం చేసి పవిత్రమైన వస్త్రాలు ధరించండి. పూజా స్థలాన్ని శుభ్రపరచండి. గణేశుని విగ్రహాన్ని లేదా చిత్రాన్ని ఎరుపు లేదా పసుపు వస్త్రంపై ఏర్పాటు చేయండి. పుష్పాలు, పళ్ళు, కొబ్బరి, దుర్వా గడ్డి, అగరబత్తి, నెయ్యి దీపం మొదలైనవి సిద్ధం చేయండి.

2. 🧘 ధ్యానం | Dhyana (Meditation)

English: Sit calmly and meditate on Lord Ganesha, chanting:
"Vakratunda Mahakaya Suryakoti Samaprabha
Nirvighnam Kuru Me Deva Sarva Karyeshu Sarvada"

తెలుగు: శాంతంగా కూర్చొని గణపతిని ధ్యానించండి:
"వక్రతుండ మహాకాయ సూర్యకోటిసమప్రభ
నిర్విఘ్నం కురు మే దేవ సర్వకార్యేషు సర్వదా"

3. 🙏 ఆవాహనం | Aavahanam (Invocation)

English: Invoke Lord Ganesha into the idol/image:
"Sri Ganeshaya Namah, Aavahayami"

తెలుగు: గణపతిని ఆహ్వానించండి:
"శ్రీ గణేశాయ నమః, ఆవాహయామి"

4. 🌸 పంచోపచార పూజా | Panchopachara Puja

Offer the following items with devotion:

  • 🌿 Gandham (సాంద్రగంధం): "Gandham Samarpayami" / గంధం సమర్పయామి
  • 🌺 Pushpam (Flowers): "Pushpaih Pujayami" / పుష్పైః పూజయామి
  • 🪔 Dhoopam (Incense): "Dhoopam Aghrapayami" / ధూపం అఘ్రాపయామి
  • 🔥 Deepam (Lamp): "Deepam Darshayami" / దీపం దర్శయామి
  • 🍽️ Naivedyam (Food): "Naivedyam Nivedayami" / నైవేద్యం నివేదయామి

Offer Durva grass (గరిక) while chanting few or all of Ganesha's 108 names (e.g., "Om Sumukhaya Namah...").

5. 🔥 హారతి | Aarti

English: Light camphor and wave it in front of the idol while singing:

"Jai Ganesh Jai Ganesh Jai Ganesh Deva
Mata Jaki Parvati, Pita Mahadeva..."

తెలుగు: హారతి పాడండి:
"గణపతి బప్పా మోరియా... మంగళమూర్తి మోరియా..."

6. 🙌 ప్రదక్షిణం, నమస్కారం | Pradakshina & Namaskaram

English: Walk around the idol (clockwise) 3 or 5 times and bow in reverence.

తెలుగు: విగ్రహం చుట్టూ 3 లేదా 5 సార్లు ప్రదక్షిణలు చేసి నమస్కరించండి.

7. 🌿 మంత్రపుష్పం & ముగింపు | Mantrapushpam & Conclusion

Offer final flowers while chanting:
"Om Tat Sat Brahmarpanamastu"
It means: May this offering be accepted by the Supreme.

8. 🌊 విసర్జన | Visarjan (Optional)

English: If this is daily puja, skip Visarjan. For Ganesh Chaturthi, immerse the idol respectfully on the final day.

Chant: "Ganapati Bappa Morya! Agle Baras Tu Jaldi Aa!"
